SK Hynix Chairman: AI chip demand will double next year
SK Hynix Chairman Choi Tae won warned that with the significant surge in demand for AI driven semiconductors, the supply growth rate is far from keeping up with the demand growth rate, and the supply shortage of storage chips will become even more severe next year.
He also warned that the sustained high prices of storage chips would lead to multiple consequences, ultimately harming the interests of South Korean chip manufacturers themselves, and emphasized the need to increase supply to cope with "abnormal" prices. He also predicts that the price of memory storage chips will not easily decrease in the short term.
